I just sat and watch a new show on Fox Reality Channel called the House Husbands of Hollywood. The show is about 5 Hollywood couples. You have Billy & Lisa ex dodger and make up artist, Darryle & Tempest both actors, Grant & Jillian TV host and actor, Kathryn & Danny lawyer & actor Charlie and his wife he is actor and thief wife is not shown. The wives have the real jobs as they put it while the husbands don't work and take care of the house and kids. This show is pure garbage. There is not an ugly or un spoiled person among them. Folks this is Hollywood imagined reality.
Reality lets be serious the minute you put a camera in front of someone and they know lots of people are going to be watching Please. To boot all of these guys are actors or want to be actors. So guess what they are doing acting. I did the take care of the kids and house when my two were little. My wife's job paid way better than what I was bringing in. I worked nights for many years. The one guy is belly aching because his wife wont let him have Kegerator in the house, Really get a job dude even if its waiting on tables. The wives on this show are not any better they treat their husbands like they are the help instead of their husband. But how much of this is just put on for the sake of ratings. Once again a reality show that is nothing more than garbage and not reality.
I give this show a 1/2 point out of 5 points because they thought that their show would be different. It just doesn't work. Save your time and get a filling done its less painful.
You are so right. The idea of the show is good but use real people. How about a family that is stuggling to make ends meet on the one salary but because they felt it was important their kids be raised by them have made the sacrifice for one parent to remain in the house. Not to mention im sure most of these couples have nannys or maid service. Show a real man changing diapers and sweeping, while trying to cook dinner. Now that would be entertainment.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I was excited to watch, "Im a celebrity, get me out here". I had never seen "The Hills" but the two most spoiled, idotic could was on there from The Hills. This guy actually thought he was more famous, and better, than the other people on there.. I guess you put a camera in front on someone and follow them around, they either develope a narcistic personality disorder.. or they have one to begin with. I can not stand watching garbage (okay, I did watch every season of big brother, this is the first year I missed it)... but when people are just garbage, I cant stand it.
ReplyDeleteNanners.. I would tune in every day to watch a reality version of Mr. Mom!! That would be great.. and it needs to be produced by a woman who was a stay at home mome for 18 years!! She will catch the reality of the situation!
Why is it we call a guy who stays home and takes care of his Kids,HIs wife and the house Mr.Mom ? Why not just Dad or Mr. Dad or father?

ReplyDeleteRead the book, The Possessive Investment In Whiteness... you will find the answers to your questions, and many more, in terms of how our society was developed and inbred with the fundamentals of racism and sexism. Does this mean you can outgrow this? Of course we can.. but just like everything else in evolution, it will take time to weed out all the negative genes, but I hope as a society and a one conscious world, that is the ultimate hope.
